This brief workshop will examine the various components of self-esteem and confidence, and describes the difference between the two. Participants will understand how self-esteem and confidence develop in early childhood, and what can cause and interfere with their natural development. Other factors of self-esteem and confidence explored include:
– shame and how it interferes with natural human affects
– shame-based family rules
– breaking the shame cycle
– shame vs guilt
– overcoming bad inner voices
– light and dark parts of self
– authentic self
– practices that improve self-esteem
– Karpman’s Drama Triangle
– the internal drama triangle
– alternatives to the drama triangle
– body mind connection
– somatic expressions of emotions
– top-down thinking, bottom-up thinking
– core beliefs
– communication styles
– the Four Agreements
You will acquire a lot of information to explore your own self-esteem and confidence, to assist clients to explore their own, and to improve self-esteem and confidence in children. (3hrs)
