The Problem with Pornography

April 4 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This brief workshop provides an overview of the impacts of casual, non-addictive and addictive use of pornography on the individual, the family, community and society. The hyper-sexualization of children, teens and adults is considered from an ecological perspective. Assessment forms will be provided to use with clients to determine risk. You will be challenged to reflect on your own porn use and the desensitization of graphically hyper-sexualized and violent images around us, that has allowed us to tolerate ever more violent displays of sexuality as the norm in our society. Discussions will take place to look for ways to make personal, community and societal changes to this problem. (3hrs)

Facilitated by: Monique Sundlie, MSW, RCSW, Phd Cand. in Clinical Sexology, Trauma Therapist
